Facility Update - Kayak Rack Opening Date

KVPOA is excited to announce that the kayak and small watercraft racks will officially open for the season on May 1st.

To make this season better for everyone, we have added an additional rack to help alleviate storage concerns and accommodate more residents.

Registration

Before placing any items on the racks, all owners must complete the Kayak Registration Form.

Please ensure your craft is clearly identified according to the guidelines on the form.

A Lesson from Last Winter: Why Removal Matters

We often receive questions asking why we require all watercraft to be removed before the snow season. This past winter provided a clear, unfortunate answer.

Despite our clear instructions to clear the racks, several owners left their watercraft behind. The combined weight of the snow and the trapped equipment caused catastrophic structural failure to one of our existing racks.

The Result: The rack was damaged beyond repair and became a significant safety hazard.

The Cost: Because the rack was ruined, we are forced to dispose of it and invest in replacements.

Please remember: Per KVPOA rules, abandoned watercraft may be disposed of without compensation. Moving forward, we ask for 100% compliance with end-of-season removal dates to protect our shared amenities and keep our community safe.
