Election Information
KVPOA Board Elections
Serving on the Board is a vital way to shape the future of Kingswood Village. Below is everything you need to know about the election process, eligibility, and this year's timeline.
Board Structure & Eligibility
-
Composition: 9 members, each serving a 3-year term.
-
Annual Rotation: 3 seats are up for election every September.
-
Eligibility: You must be a lot/property owner listed on the deed (or legal documents like a Trust/LLC).
-
Limit: Only one member per family or ownership unit may serve at a time.
-
Officers: After the election, the Board appoints the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Remaining members serve as at-large directors or committee chairs.
How Voting Works: "Election by Acclamation"
To stay compliant with the Davis-Stirling Act and California Civil Code, we use a streamlined process:
-
If 3 or fewer candidates run: They are automatically seated at the September Annual Meeting (Election by Acclamation). No ballots are mailed.
-
If 4 or more candidates run: We proceed with a traditional balloting process.
Note: Board meetings are held ~11 times per year via Zoom/Teams to allow for flexible attendance.
