About Us & Who We Are
Kingswood Village was founded in the early 1970s by a group of homeowners who envisioned a community rooted in the peace and serenity of the Tahoe forests. Today, that vision is a reality. Our thirty six acre property, just a few miles from the lake, is a haven for those who value both nature and connection.
With 230+ units, our residents have access to a wide range of amenities, including a pool, gym, sauna, tennis courts, and convenient kayak and boat storage. What truly sets us apart is our strong sense of community. Our social committee hosts holiday celebrations and special events, creating a bond that goes beyond shared space. At Kingswood Village, we are more than just neighbors—we are a community united.
About Us
How it Started
Kingswood Village possesses a unique organizational history rooted in its initial development strategy. Evidence suggests that the community was originally constructed and sold in smaller, distinct blocks, with each block forming its own independent Homeowners Association (HOA). The earliest known units to be built were Unit Blocks 1 through 8, strategically positioned near the intersection of Commonwealth Drive and Highway 267.
This fragmented organizational structure—featuring numerous, separate HOAs within a relatively compact development—appears to have presented significant administrative challenges over time. While definitive documentation regarding the early operational challenges is not comprehensively available, the period of independent management may have included instances of administrative difficulties or varying levels of success among the individual associations.
Ultimately, the early owners and residents collectively recognized the need for a unified approach. They successfully collaborated to dissolve their individual HOAs, leading to the formation of the entity known today as the Kingswood Village Property Owners Association (KVPOA).
The KVPOA now stands as the singular governing association, representing the entirety of the Kingswood Village community. Our mission is to work diligently in creating and maintaining the high-quality paradise and retreat that all our owners cherish and call home.

As of November 2025, Kingswood Village is the first property of our size to be awarded the complete Firewise Certification with a 100ft defensible space around our buildings!
